How many domain names can I
register?
For the Top Level .com, .net,
.org, there is no restriction. You can register as many as you
like. We know of clients with a few hundred.
If someone offers to buy my
domain, can I sell it?
Yes domain names are
transferable.
How much can I get for
cutename.com?
It could depend how desperately
someone may want your domain name. The price is negotiable
between the buyer and the seller. Check for current rates by
using a search engine. Look for "domains for sale".
I have a free website at
geocities.com, can I redirect my domain to this address at
geocities?
Yes we can redirect your domain
to any URL you like. We charge a nominal annual fee for this, click
here.
If I register a domain with
you, can I use the email address me@myname.com?
Not unless you are hosting or
redirecting with us, or some other ISP.
After I registered my domain,
I found out that it is actually someone else's trade mark, what
happens then.
As a registry, we register any
name you like provided its available. The onus is on you to make
sure you are not infringing on someone else's trade mark. You
should seek legal counsel on this. It could depend on what your
intentions are, and how you are going to put the domain name in
use. Trade Marks are generally granted in a certain category of
products or service. In cases of dispute the Uniform
Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (often referred to
as the "UDRP") is an integral part of your purchase
agreement if you register through us. This gives you protection
as well as providing the means to resolve disputes.
I thought of this really cool
name, and I registered mycoolname.com. What protection do I have
against others registering the .net or .org variety?
You have no protection. If the
other varieties are available at the time of registration,
you could register those as well. You could also consider
applying for a trade mark for "mycoolname". Again seek
legal counsel advice.
